TOGETHER WE INSPIRE A LOVE OF LEARNING...What a great week of learning at AISC. Throughout the week there were multiple opportunities for us to collaborate and deepen our understanding on several of our school-wide priorities.
Megan led an after school session on an Introduction to Close Reading. Close reading is a highly discussed topic right now because it is included as an expectation in the Common Core. During the session with Megan we had time to reflect on opportunities for implementing close reading strategies across the curriculum. We also learned some new strategies that can be used in any classroom. Look out for more information from Megan on when the follow-up session will occur.

"The More We Share, The More We Have." Leonard Nimoy
At this month's Math Professional Learning,Calley took us on a virtual visit inside Ben & Megha and Britt and Dee's math classes to see some of the creative ways our students are engaging with the math practice standards. We were then invited to provide feedback and ask questions by posting on their G+ page. Wow - a HUGE thank you to Ben, Megha, Britt and Dee for opening up their classrooms to all of us and sharing the fantastic teaching and learning that is happening.

AISC Teachers sharing with others...
Earlier this year, Rebekah and Gregg applied to the ELLSA (English Language Learning Specialists in Asia) Conference. They were selected as presenters and this past weekend they proudly represented AISC by sharing this presentation. They are also making plans to share the presentation with all of us - look for details soon.

AISC/TFI Brown Bag Lunch
On Saturday, the FAC Cafeteria was full of 130 Teach For India fellows and AISC teachers as we hosted the 2nd Brown Bag Lunch of the year. These lunches offer a unique opportunity for us to share our practices with the fellows and learn more about their experiences in the local schools - a true service learning opportunity. We will host one more lunch this year. A "save the date" will be coming your way soon.
