Personalized Professional Learning Survey

A goal we have at AISC is to be a progressive school that has clear alignment around our teaching and learning priorities. We are also committed to providing our faculty with rich professional learning experiences. To help us plan for a more personalized approach to professional learning in the 2016-17 school year, we ask that you set aside approximately 5-10 minutes to complete this comprehensive survey.

The results of this survey will guide us as we develop a dynamic and personalized professional learning program for next year, which will begin with the All Faculty Orientation and extend throughout the school year. Given the importance of this information in our planning for next year, we have added the completion of the survey to the end of year checkout process.  Please have this survey completed by May 20, 2016.

Preparing your Classrooms for the End of the Year

It is hard to believe that there are only 3 ½ weeks left of this school year!  As you start to look toward that end mark, you are most likely thinking about preparing your classroom for next year (or for some of us, our departure).  Over the past few years we have opened up the SHED for teachers to discard gently used (but still useable) materials that are no longer needed for instruction specific to their grade level or content. The reality, however, is that the SHED actually became a dump and unintentionally promoted a wasteful approach to the cleaning process.  Therefore, the SHED "give away" will not occur in the same form as it has in previous years. Instead, I have created a Google Doc where teachers can post photos and descriptions of useable instructional materials that they can no longer use in their specific units.  If you are interested in a posted item, you will sign-up for it and then work directly with the teacher to collect the useable materials and resources.  Balajee is currently surveying our local school connections to see what resources and materials they would like to receive.  He will organize a few donation bins with details of items that will be accepted for donation.  Look for more details from Balajee in the upcoming weeks.

Don't forget to update your Professional Learning Transcript!  Click here, make a copy and update it. Once you have it finished, share it with me and I will have it printed on letterhead, stamped and signed.  This is a great way to stay up-to-date on your continuing education recertification hours.
