Updates from the Director of Teaching and Learning Office

November 23 Early Release

Mini-NESA will take place during our early release on
Wednesday, November 23.

All teachers and teaching assistants will attend a session start time is 2:30 pm. If you have not indicated your Mini-NESA session preference by now, Jet will place you in one of the sessions below.

We have ten different sessions being offered by staff this year and we look forward to learning from our colleagues. These workshops are:

  • Beyond Sentence Starters
  • Designing and Creating in the Elementary School
  • Engaging Students through Gamification
  • Learning to Learn: Split Screening
  • Living Your Mission
  • Multilingualism Matters: Developing Equitable Learning in a Diverse Classroom
  • Mybot: Ready, Set, Go!
  • Teaching Children Self Regulation Strategies: Brain Gym and the Alert Program
  • Touch Interactive Learning
  • Workshop It!
AISC will send staff to present some of their workshops at the NESA Spring Educators Conference in Bangkok this spring. Workshops are selected based on a peer review process. Regardless of whether staff go on to present in Bangkok, we find that Mini-NESA is a wonderful experience in itself, and we are very thankful to our in-house staff presenters.

AISC Presentation Commitment Policy

Recognizing the professional development involved in presentations and also understanding the benefit to publicly demonstrate the good work happening at AISC, the Teaching and Learning Leadership (TALL) has created a PILOT AISC Presenter Commitment Policy.

If you are interested in pursuing opportunities to present at regional and internationally recognized conferences and professional education-related venues, there are more details of this pilot here.
