Mini NESA Update
Mini NESA, originally scheduled for November 29, has been cancelled due to lack of applications.  Please let me know if I can answer any questions.

Service Learning Feature #ServiceLearningStartsHere
Blue Cross is a animal welfare organization based here in Chennai. They provide shelters, rehoming, adoption, hospitals & mobile dispensary and animal ambulance services. AISC middle school students visits the Blue Cross on a monthly basis where they help clean, wash, and feed puppies and kittens. They also spend time with the animals to help them get used to human contact. If you would like to volunteer please visit http://bluecrossofindia.org/ for more information.

Service Learning Updates, from Service Learning Coordinator Balajee Ginjapalle
The Middle School SEVAI Day, originally scheduled for November 2, had to be postponed till November 30 on account of rains. The schedule and projects remain the same. Grade 6 students will work with 2 NGOs (Blue Cross and TREE Foundation) that work in the field of animal care. Grade 7 students will work on community building and visit two local schools (Seva Samajam and Olcott School) and interact with community children, learn about social responsibility, and work on an art project to learn math. Grade 8 students will do reflective learning by shadowing some of our maintenance and facilities staff and take time to appreciate those people who make our campus beautiful, safe, and clean.

The fourth ULEAD@AISC by Operation Smile  that was scheduled for Nov 4&5 was postponed on account of rain. The revised dates are January 20 and 21, 2018. Three local schools with about 60 students in total are expected to participate in the conference that hopes to bring to life the four pillars of Operation Smile: Leadership, Awareness, Service and Education. This will be done through a variety of activities such as team building games, service projects, and inspirational speeches.
