2020-2021 Social Buddies--LAST
CALL!
Did you have a good transition to AISC? If so, this is your chance to
pay it forward! We will be looking for new social buddies. We are currently reviewing our social buddy
system but if you are interested, please send come talk to me or send me an
email!
Social buddies will NOT have to return earlier this year, they will get
to virtually introduce themselves in March to new faculty via the AISC Online
Transition Course. Talk to me to find out more!

A big thank you to the ES and MS for
completing the EAL Strategies Survey this past December. Based on your
feedback, we have 8 optional sessions for anyone (including HS) to attend. They
are:
1. January 28: Integrating content and language - SHED
2. February 11: Intentional Grouping
- SHED
3. February 25: Listening strategies
- Hall of Lights
4. March 10: Recognize new
vocabulary in reading - SHED
5. March 24: Using new vocabulary in
writing - SHED
6. April 21: Translanguaging -
SHED
7. May 5: Targeted feedback in the 4
skills - SHED
8. May 19: Error correction when impeding
comprehension – SHED
Sessions are Tuesday morning from
7:30-8:15am. A light breakfast and child care will be provided. Reminders of
EAL Strategy Talks and the specific topic will be posted in the ES and MS
faculty notes. For those who expressed a high interest in a particular topic, I
will send a calendar invite… just to put it on your radar.
