One of the educational books I always return to is Ron Berger’s An Ethic of Excellence: Building a culture of craftsmanship with students’ (2003). Excellence is about assigning work that matters, sharing examples of excellence, further clarifying your work with revision, before sharing it with others. It was these themes that brought me to read Ron Berger’s article, Our Kids Are Not Broken in The Atlantic. The link is at the bottom of the page. The contention within the article is to fight against the growing narrative of learning loss that will affect our students, emotionally and academically.

Virtual Learning Take Away Observations
In an effort to better understand and our archive what we learned in Virtual Learning, the Learning Coaches, Leadership Team asked the following questions:
How can our experiences in virtual learning positively impact our return to campus? What do we want to keep and continue once we are back in classrooms? What should we leave in the virtual world and not continue in our return?
Before we completed the organization of our answers, I wanted to ask you the same questions. Please complete the following survey, Teaching and Learning: Virtual Learning Take Away Observations: Retain and Remove by March 31 to add to a central document on Virtual Learning Take Away Observations. Please review the central document for examples before completing the survey.
Revised MAP Testing Dates
In order to accommodate the most recent permissions to have students on campus and to delegate the testing date to virtual teaching days, the MAP test dates in Middle School and High School have been amended. Former dates are crossed-out and new dates are in bold. Additional details about MAP testing will be communicated from each of your sections.
