It has been a pleasure! School at the beginning of the year did not look like school at the end of the year and it will be alright. We are resilient and we will carry on. We have learned and we will continue to grow through this. Staying connected to the school, my colleagues, my family, and friends has helped. Reading, writing, and reflecting has also helped. I will continue with all of it and more. In the meantime, if you were not able to read my writings, I will leave them here.
I welcome your insights, appreciate your opinions, and cherish your understanding. Please write over the summer. I will be working to move AISC, teaching and learning, and myself forward.
EAL Shout-out!
This past week, a raising English language teaching association in Pakistan asked me to give a webinar on the transition to virtual schooling. In this session, we cover a lot in 45 minutes. Here’s a modified agenda:
- Moving from “brick & mortar” to virtual schooling
- Balancing synchronous & asynchronous activities
- Paying special attention to ELLs
- Creating a vibrant online classroom culture
- Using online resources
- Monitoring our students’ social-emotional wellbeing
If you have time to view the webinar, let me know your thoughts. I’m happy to be a thought partner with any other you. Just drop me a line.
Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay happy. I miss you all terribly.
Peace-
Sarah
