Consultants, Coaches, and Continued Curriculum Review!

Third week and we are really off to a fast start.  We are on our third week and so I have three big areas to share with you:  consultants, learning coach updates, and curriculum review.

AISC Professional Learning Opportunities

Here is the link for Tania Lattanzi Inquiry Visit starting on Monday!  Check the schedule.  There have been some necessary modifications.

Inquiry Consultant Visit to AISC August 22-26, 2016

This week AISC faculty will work with Tania Lattanzi, international consultant and founding member of Innovative Global Education. The focus of Tania's work at AISC will be on developing and conducting professional development for teachers and leadership, modeling pedagogy in classrooms, developing and designing inquiry-based units and lessons with teachers and working intensively with teaching teams, through mentoring and coaching, to improve planning, teaching and assessment that has a direct focus on inquiry.

I look forward to sharing further updates from Tania and AISC faculty time together!

Coaches Corner

Members of the Coaching Collaborative helped us focus our attention on goal setting and coaching opportunities during section meetings this Wednesday afternoon. This was a unique opportunity for teachers to come together and give their collective attention to the important professional goal setting process at AISC. Whereas teachers in the past might have worked on their PG&E either individually or with a select few peers, it was clear from the energy in all three sections that spending some time sharing ideas about personal learning goals was a worthwhile endeavor.

Coaches also provided more clarity about their roles and led activities that helped us all better understand how to define our work with coaches, especially in regards to how they might support us in our PG&E process through Professional Inquiry Coaching Cycles.

If you haven’t yet indicated your thoughts on how you might work with a coach this year, please fill out the Coaching Interest Inventory, then contact any one of your coaches to discuss your options.
