EAL Shout-out!
This past weekend, I attended my first #ELLSAPD around #translanguaging. What is #ELLSAPD, you ask (because you already know what #translanguaging is)? Good question!

Well, first ELLSA, English Language Learning Specialists in Asia, is an organization of teachers in Asia that connect, collaborate, and advocate for the teaching and learning of ELLs. ELLSA offers a variety of professional learning opportunities, such as face-to-face conferences and #ELLSAPD.

Now, #ELLSAPD provides a positive, social, professional learning experience that is productive and focused on enhancing the learning of English language learners. Professionals from all over Asia meet at a particular time on Twitter to discuss a current EAL topic (for example, here’s 14 September event overview). Some ELD professional meet at a coffee shop and participate together while others participate alone (see below). Regardless, it’s an amazing opportunity to share resources in a professional learning environment.

If you want to see what it’s all about, visit #ELLSAPD and #translanguaging on Twitter. I’m sure you’ll see some amazing things!

Peace-
