Shout-out!
End of the year! Congratulations on a job well
done. This is a kind-of repeat Shout-out from April about ways to “improve your
craft”. Over the summer, and if you are interested and have the time, you might
want to look into:
- Fundamentals of TESOL: EAL? ELL? ESL? TESOL? ESOL?
What does it all mean? With this course, you will gain a theoretical and
practical knowledge of language, language learning, teaching methodology,
and classroom practice.
- ESL for the
Secondary Mathematics Teacher: Ever wonder how mathematics, language, and culture
intertwine? Here you’ll find ways to do just that!
- ESL for the
Secondary Science Teacher: Need to align your science classes with second language
acquisition? This course is for you!
- Exploring Grammar:
Phrasal Structures: Shy about talking with students about grammar? This
course will help you develop your metalinguistic competence, and
confidence, to do just that!
- Exploring Grammar:
Multiclause Structures: Can’t get enough of grammar!? This course dives deeper
into grammatical structures and how you might teach them.
But for the most part, summer is a time for
relaxing and being lazy. I do hope all of you are able to do just that. See you
in July!
Peace-
Sarah
